It's come to my attention after Naruse came up in conversation with a few campers that I really should sort out just what Serizawa thinks of Naruse.

DAMMIT ALWAYS TL;DR

Whoo I love introspective character essays! I'm doing this mostly to help myself figure out his voice, character, issues, buttons etc. He changes and grows throughout the series, and even before all the mindfucky revenge homicide business started he was already a Special Bundle of Problems.

Basically, ALL YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW is Naoto still has Daddy Issues, is still abrasive and slightly awkward with people, hardworking to a fault, outwardly aggressive when upset, and a little slow on the uptake, but he is more responsible, mature and generally a bit calmer.

Age: 25
Height: 173cm / 5'9
Weight: 58kg / 128lb
Medical Info: Lean, healthy young man.
Eyes: Black.
Hair: Black.
Physical traits: Lean, lanky, and sports the utilitarian I-just-don't-give-a-damn look of someone who spends many hours a day doing investigations and running around between crime scenes (quite literally): short cropped hair, button up outer shirt (always open), tank top, old baggy jeans and well-worn sneakers.
Abilities: Running any distance between station/car to crime scene (Expert). Roughing up suspects like a true Bad Cop though he never really means to (Intermediate). Investigating and detecting (Novice).

What's Okay To Mention Around Him: Pretty much everything except the very well-concealed, little-known fact that he stabbed a guy when he was 15. MORE BELOW.
Notes for the Psychics: Serizawa Naoto was bound for Fuckedupville. In middle school he had a dubious history of teen delinquency and bullying. As younger son and black sheep of the illustrious Serizawa house, his disapproving business tycoon father gave him severe lifelong Daddy Issues. And this was before The Incident happened.

[ DETAILED HISTORY ]

He and his 3 buddies were routinely roughing up a kid when the kid's friend Hideo stuck up for him. A skirmish ensued, during which Hideo was stabbed by a knife and died. The real tragedy is that there was no actual homicidal intention involved; Naoto held the knife against Hideo's chest as a bluff... and Hideo fell forward. Nevertheless, daddy took care of business and washed his son's hands clean with a lot of money, buying lawyers to write it off as a non-criminal homicide in the event of self-defense. Naoto was vindicated, and had to live with a heavy conscience for the rest of his life. Especially after he seemed to singlehandedly wipe out the victim's family; Hideo's mother died of grief, and his older brother who went missing shortly after was presumably dead.

So yes. In short, Daddy Issues, brief history of violence, TRUCKLOADS OF GUILT -> his tendency to overcompensate in his job.

Maim/Murder/Death: Some light maiming's fine, but nothing beyond that plzkthx :<
